Health Science Technologies - Two Year Program

Year 1 Program Overview: Year 1 of the Health Science program introduces students to the foundational knowledge and skills needed for a career in the healthcare field. With a focus on patient care, safety, and professional communication, students explore a wide range of health careers while learning in a hands-on, simulated clinical environment. This course prepares students for more advanced clinical training and certifications in Year 2.

Year 2 Program Overview: Year 2 focuses on advanced clinical skills, professional certifications, and preparation for direct patient care roles. Students prepare to sit for the Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) exam and continue building their resumes with real-world certifications and hands-on experiences. This year supports students in becoming confident, certified, and career-ready healthcare professionals.

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR
  • Heartsavers First Aid
  • Seizure Recognition & First Aid (Epilepsy Foundation)
  • Bloodborne Pathogens Training
  • Introduction to LNA skill sets

Advanced Skills & Clinical Training:

  • Completion of all required clinical competencies for LNA certification
  • Practice communication, mobility, personal care, vital signs, and emergency response in a simulated clinical setting
  • Team-based care planning and mock patient scenarios
